The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Programme 2024-2025 awards full scholarships to international students. There are 37 undergraduate scholarships available. This scholarship will cover tuition, books, and incidental costs for four years of full-time residency.

This award is intended to recognize global students who excel academically and creatively, as well as those who serve as college leaders. A strong emphasis is placed on the student’s impact on the lives of their peers and community, as well as their future ability to constructively contribute to global society.

These scholarships are given out annually to outstanding students from all over the world, including international students who attend Canadian high schools. This scholarship is the most coveted and competitive for international students.

  • The deadline for student OUAC enrollment applications is December 15, 2024. (Please keep in mind that this is the deadline for submitting an application to the OUAC; while you can apply until December 15, 2024, we encourage applying as soon as feasible. The recommended application deadline is before November 7, 2023, as program spots fill quickly and popular programs may close prematurely.

Eligibility criteria for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship

An international student nominated by their school will be invited to apply for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship. The complete eligibility requirements are:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible countries are: Every country in the globe.
  • A student studying abroad
  • An imaginative and creative thinker.
  • Committed to education and the community.
  • Academically and creatively, I excel.
  • Excited by learning and intellectual exploration.
  • Have demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • They are in their final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2023.
  • Intention to begin studies at the University of Toronto in September 2024 (students already enrolled in postsecondary education are ineligible, as are those beginning their studies at another postsecondary institution in January 2025).

How to Apply for Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship?

To apply for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program, follow these steps:

  • Get a nomination from your school. (High schools that have not yet been contacted or vetted are requested to submit an application to join our program, which is available here.). (Link)
  • Apply to the University of Toronto (Link) to begin your studies in 2024 and submit your application for admission before the deadlines (Link).  Please be advised that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship at the University of Toronto, based on your desired program. You can apply to many programs and be admitted to all of them; but, if you are awarded the Pearson Scholarship, you will be limited to your first choice of study at U of T when we make our scholarship decisions.
  • After we get your nomination and you have applied to university, you can fill out the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application.
